"Open minded. Open for change"
– that was the central theme of the ISO week in Germany. It was chosen to reflect the necessity to adapt in our changing world. New technologies and innovations call for new ideas and more flexible standardization and publishing processes. On this website – brought to you by DIN – you will find out more about the Open Zone (a discussion space open to all participants) and the Open Session where this theme was explored.
Why did we choose this theme?
The path to standardization contains lots of new challenges. The world around us is changing at an astonishing pace. New technologies and innovations call for new ideas and more flexible standardization processes. We need to find new ways to collaborate and to satisfy the needs of our customers – in the field of standards development as well as in publishing. This is why we dedicated the ISO week in Germany to the future of standardization. We discussed new challenges as well as their solutions. We shared best practices from ISO members from all over the world. We talked about, how we can prepare ourselves and the international standardization community for these challenges. Let’s be open to think outside the box and to reflect upon how we can understand and fulfill the current and future expectations of our stakeholders in the best possible way. This will be essential to secure the future of our international standardization system. This is also reflected in the theme of the ISO week in Germany: „Open-minded. Open for change.”
